Its not some weird conspiracy theory involving the Warburgs, Rothschilds, Rockefellers and the Tri-Lateral Commission. Or the Hatfields and McCoys. Or Rosie and Donald for that matter. I know many wish it would be. That would give those who just don't have enough to do, something to get involved with. Would give them some semblance of a life - something they now do not have. No the simple fact is that George W. Bush (and his Dad) are enthusiastic believers in Global Free Trade
(*). Not that there's anything wrong with that. But just like anything else it can, and has, been carried way too far. To be exact the Free Trade pendulum has swung too far to the Globalist Left. Again, this is not some world wide conspiracy gone wild. I just don't see it that way. But I believe that the President and those advising him
(**) have allowed themselves to become too eager and the "trading" has become lopsided to the extreme - not in America's favor. And also a danger for America. For anyone who has been totally baffled and exasperated by what is going on along the U.S./Mexican border, it is essential that they understand this about our President. It is because of this Globalists mind-set that President Bush refuse's to take action that he perceives would jeopardize any present or future economic dealings with Mexico, Central or South America. And he absolutely believes in his heart of hearts that this is the best course for America. "But" President Bush also carries a burden for impoverished nations of the world. He is pressuring other nations around the world to sign off on the
Doha Round trade agreement. It basically says that all 3rd world nations should be able to sell their products to rich nations without any restrictions or barriers. But it would also require the 3rd world nations to reciprocate in some way. Fat chance of that happening. But
no restrictions or barriers is key here. This is stated plainly in
this Dept of State
editorial. Plus this editorial makes no mistake about
Doha applying to U.S./Mexico trade relations, as it originated from the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. It is an obvious attempt to pander to the Mexican government.
At this point do I need to say it? A sovereign border is a barrier. A sovereign border is a restriction. And even though most of the world wants nothing to do w/Doha - its dead in the water - the President is going to make darn sure that his little petri dish experiment for Doha, the U.S./Mexican border area, is a success. So he can show the rest of the world how well it works. At least that is my take on things.
Another factor in the Presidents refusal to remedy the chaotic mess along the U.S./Mex border is that he put his signature on the Security and Prosperity Partnership of N. America (SPP) back in March of 05 along w/the Mexican and Canadian Presidents. Let me simplify this the way I did in my own mind. To me it says, "hey, we're all just like 3 neighbors living in the same neighborhood. If you need to come over to my yard and borrow my lawn mower, my car, tools, etc, just come get them. And I'll reciprocate". Its been my experience that those kinds of arrangements always end up in disaster. One neighbor ends up as a dysfuntional maniac (Mexico) and always takes it too far. Brings back your lawnmower demolished and your tools start to disappear, etc. And this is exactly what is happening. The mass of illegal's is causing extreme grief for Middle America (and not just the border states). But don't expect any help from the President. He has given his word. He has signed the SPP document and he will not renege. And he has his goons like federal prosecutor Johnny Sutton to enforce his will if any of us step out of line. Ask former Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean who just began serving 12 year prison terms for shooting an escaping Mexican drug dealer in the buttocks. The people of Texas are absolutely infuriated with the President over this issue.
As is evident good intentions poorly thought out and then implemented always turn out to be disastrous. Like the United Nations or the Great Society. And at a time when the President desperately needs the support of his base [over the war in Iraq] where are they? Almost to the point of burning him in effigy! And why is he risking all of this? For the sake of a some future pie-in the-sky prosperity that this SPP agreement might bring? What dollar/peso amount will pay for the loss of our National Identity? The irony is that America is the wealthiest market in the world. Every nation needs to do business with us. We can (and will) have great merchantilistic relations with most nations of the world but it will be more on our terms. We don't have to go begging. And this is not an isolationist stance. It is a realistic stance.
To President Bush and the GOP hierarchy: Do not put a Price Tag on Our Nations Sovereignty! Stand down now if you want our vote in 2008. DD
