One would expect that from a principled person like
Duncan Hunter. He's not the type to go out begging for money. A proud man. Standing on the truth. Just what every conservative seems to be begging for! Duncan Hunter is the only
pure conservative GOP candidate and has stood up for and done everything conservatives have asked.
For years! He's not a johnny-come-lately trying to pander to the fickle GOP base. Yet the so-called whimpering, whining GOP conservatives have turned their collective backs on Hunter. Shame on them for it. So Hunter's campaign is, frankly, in trouble. As I see it. He has not raised a huge sum of money and now his
"cash on hand" is dangerously low. Just a little above
$200K as of July 15th. Not even enough to produce a decent TV ad and pay the networks to run it. Worrisome. However, if 10K supporters simply give $20 each, Hunter could double his money quickly. My $20 check is going out in Monday's mail. Wish I could give more.
But in the coming months the Hunter campaign needs some larger infusions of
the green stuff. When he wins, hands down, the
Iowa Straw in August he will have major name recognition. And with that name recognition I think I have an idea where he might get some of those large cash donations. Think & concentrate with me here, please. After January 20, 09 when President Hunter takes his right hand off of the Bible, steps down into a limo and heads for the Oval Office what will happen? Well he's promised to have the fence completed [all 854 miles] in 6 months. You can bet that his staff will quietly begin the task of notifying employers, in no uncertain terms, that they'd best not hire illegals. And these employers will know that Duncan Hunter means business. Sanctuary cities will be told that they'd better start enforcing immigration laws or the river of Federal dollars will dry up. Etc. Etc. Millions of Mexicans, and Central Americans will begin to head home of their own volition. I know I'm over simplifying here a bit but the long/short of it is that
there will still be a
huge demand for foreign workers. Rough guestimate is that 1-3 million
HB2 unskilled worker visa's will need to be issued. ASAP. And of course the Federal gov't will be totally overwhelmed as they were in the recent
Passport fiasco. So who could the Fed's turn to for help? Right!
The private sector. Specifically a group called the
American Immigration Lawyers Association (
AILA ). Now concentrate here with me once again on an undisputable fact: when the illegals return to their home country and the immigration
laws begin to be strictly enforced, who's business is going to skyrocket? Immigration attorneys! Its undisputable, in my view. Those attorneys that are now well established in immigration law are going to be sitting pretty. The demand for HB1 & 2 work visa's is going to go through the roof. Not to mention all of the other related immigration issues that will
require the services of an Immigration Attorney.
A scenerio that could only happen, in my opinion, in a Hunter administration. Immigration attorneys have been
hurt by illegal immigration especially over the last several years as illegal immigration has
increased seriously during the
Bush administration. And it would only worsen drastically in a Democratic administration. So these poor attorneys really need a break. And if I were one of their number, I'd be writing a big check made out to the Duncan Hunter campaign.
Also, if I were in charge of Fund Raising for the Duncan Hunter Campaign, I'd start immediately, trying to find a way to woo
AILA. And if I found that I could not reach
AILA, then I'd be acquiring mailing lists of Immigration Attorneys and would start bombarding these "individuals" with emails, fax's and mail-outs. Because these individual lawyers, too, know which side their bread is buttered on. They may pay the dues to the association but they also know what will bring clients into their front door.
